Citizens Vote for a White House Victory Garden

No need to feel frustrated that nobody will listen to your pleas for building a sustainable food supply, just visit Change.org, a social action network, and vote for a Victory Garden in their “Ideas for Change in America” section.Victory Garden asks the Obamas to start a First Garden at the White House to “lead by example on climate change, health policy, economic self-reliance, food security, and energy independence.” Don’t worry if you’ve already endorsed this idea elsewhere, this is THE one place to vote because your vote influences the ranking of the idea in a nationwide competition to identify the best ideas for change in America.

According to Change.org,” this idea is currently in 27th Place and needs 5605 more votes to be part of the final 10 ideas presented at Change.org’s  event in Washington, DC. On January 16th, Change.org will co-host an event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to announce the top 10 rated ideas and their plans for supporting the formation of a national advocacy campaign behind each idea in collaboration with their nonprofit partners.”

Vote today for a greener America and share this advocacy opportunity with a few friends.

Thewhofarm.org produced an excellent four minute video describing their petition for an organic food garden at the White House. Their video is also on the Victory Garden voting page on change.org. Enjoy.
