Looking for an environmentally friendly gift in the $10-$12 range that will be used again and again? Lunch Skins are an eco-chic, reusable and dishwasher- safe alternative to disposable plastic sandwich and snack bags made from a high quality, moisture-proof German fabric used worldwide in the food industry. Mine are 2 years old and look almost new despite daily cleaning in the dishwasher. There are no worries about leaching harmful chemicals from these lunch bags since they are lead, Bisphenol-A (BPA) and phthalate-free.

Lunch Skins make a perfect gift for teachers, babysitters, frequent travelers (they don’t feed them on flights anymore) and children of any age that pack a lunch or snack. Every day more than 20 million sandwich bags from school lunches go into landfills in our country according to manufacturer 3GreenMoms. One of the easiest ways to go green and save money in the long run is to replace plastic sandwich and snack bags with reusable Lunch Skins.

  1. I just purchased a few of these- in both snack and sandwich bag sizes and they are great. Chips, crackers, veggies, fruit, cookies, nuts, etc. (You can use them for sandwiches too, but we have these awesome sandwich wraps which unfold like a napkin into a plate like object. They are from Reusable.com.) You can put them in the dishwasher for easy clean up. This holiday there are limited styles available at The Container Store, if you want to see them in person before ordering quantities. They would surely be awesome gifts!

    • Karen I’m so glad these are working for you. I also use them for nuts, granola, crackers, cookies, cut up vegetables, etc. Don’t you think these would make an excellent “green” PTA fundraiser since they’re available with a school logo?
