On Wednesday I met with over a dozen other member of the CT Farm-to-Chef Advisory team to finalize official plans for Farm-to-Chef Week 2011. Farmer’s Cow, a member of the CT Dept of Agriculture’s Farm-to-Chef Program and an official sponsor of CT Farm-to-Chef Week 2011, not only hosted the meeting at their beautiful headquarters at Graywall Farm, but also treated us to an inside scoop of the Farmer’s Cow newest ice cream flavor, Red, White and Moo!
Red, White and Moo is a creamy, fruity combination of raspberry, blueberry and vanilla ice creams made exclusively from milk from their 6 member farms in Connecticut. Made from scratch with gently pasteurized milk these ice creams are fresh, rich and delicious. These three flavors are neatly packed side-by-side to create a red, white and blue strip. The ice cream we sampled was a first run batch packed in generic containers and plans are to release it to stores for a limited edition summer run. If you can’t wait until then, Fort Hill Farms is scooping it already.
The Farmer’s Cow Red, White and Moo! will soon be in a store hear you!
