Spring/Summer Farmers’ Markets 2013
Farmers’ markets will open for the season beginning in May and we will be updating the 2012 directory below to reflect 2013 opening dates, schedules and locations. The New Canaan Farmers’ Market, which opeeds for the season on May 11, 2013, and the Westport Farmers’ Markets, which open on May 23 and June 1, have been updated. Both Greenwich Farmers’ Markets have been updated as of 5/14/13, along with Darien, Wilton, Rowayton and Fairfield. Other markets will open in June, some as late as July. This guide is updated continuously through the season.
Bethel Downtown Farmers’ Market
This market opened in July 2011 thanks to the work of Bethel First Selectman Matthew Knickerbocker. The original Bethel farmers’ market is one of the oldest in the state and is listed below. New this year at the Downtown market is Victoria’s Wood Fired Pizza Catering (Danbury), a wood-fired pizza company that will be sourcing some ingredients from local farms. Movie nights, live music, and more special events are planned for this year.

Bethel Farmers’ Market (updated for 2012)
The Bethel Farmers’ Market is one of the oldest markets in the state of Connecticut. It was started over two decades ago by a group of farmers, most of whom still participates in the market. The market offers shoppers a wide range of products to choose from – beautiful plants, fruits and vegetables, soap and body products, baked goods, meats, eggs, handmade granola and awesome prepared foods. All of the vendors are located within 50 miles of Bethel, making it a truly local food experience.

Greenwich Farmers’ Market (updated for 2013)
The Greenwich Farmers’ Market has been a popular and well-visited Saturday morning event for over 15 years. Connecticut farmers travel from as far as Lyme and Roxbury, and many towns in between, to bring customers the freshest produce and products. The market is conveniently located right off Exit 3 on I 95, and easily accessible to both Connecticut and New York shoppers.
