Grassroots Harvest Dinner to Benefit Wakeman Town Farm

Wakeman Town Farm will hold their first farm-to-table dinner event on Saturday, September 15, with the help of local chefs from popular eateries. The Grassroots Harvest Dinner dinner will be held at the farm and promises to a decadent extravaganza featuring the freshest seasonal vegetables. This farm fundraiser is supported by the generous contributions of local farmers.

Farm-to-table dinners provide us with unique opportunities to reconnect with the source of our food.

John Naughright of LeFarm, Westport

Frederic Kieffer of Artisan, Southport

John Barricelli of Sono Bakery, Norwalk & Westport

Tickets are $150 per person and go towards helping the Farm to make improvements, add animal shelters for children’s programs, and implement high school and college internships and camp scholarships. Guests will also enjoy a live auction to support the Farm’s important community projects.

About Wakeman Town Farm

The Wakeman Town Farm Sustainability Center is an organic demonstration homestead open to the public. Located at 134 Cross Highway in Westport, the Farm is a model facility created to educate the community with healthy food production, responsible land stewardship, sustainable practices and community service orientation. Activities include educational workshops, student internships, hosting after school environmental clubs, children’s summer camp programs, growing fruits and vegetables, animal husbandry, providing a farm stand and CSA pickup location.
