Winter Farmers’ Market to Run at Benedict’s in Monroe

Benedict’s Home & Garden in Monroe is once again hosting a winter farmers’ market. Market master Karen Demont said last year’s market was so popular that they were able to expand it this year.  “We ran the market for 6 weeks last year with 14 farmers and this year it will run for 9 with at least 20 vendors to meet consumer demand.”

The market runs each Friday from 2-5 pm, starting on January 10, 2014 and ending on March 7, 2014. A  heated and lit greenhouse, which would otherwise sit unused, houses the market.

Hot meals will be served by Skinny Pines, a mobile, wood-fired brick oven caterer dedicated to sourcing local, seasonal ingredients.
