Westport Farmers Market to Begin 9th Season on May 22

WFM brings real food and real farmers to you!

The Westport Farmers’ Market, a beloved oasis of local food, products, chefs and community, kicks off its ninth summer season on Thursday, May 22. Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you will find 50 Imperial Avenue (a.k.a. as the Commuter Lot) transformed into a thriving local hub, featuring real food and real farmers with a real commitment to sustainability.  We will operate our summer season from May 22 to November 6.

WFM will offer an extensive variety of locally produced products from over 40 vendors. Foods like meats, dairy, breads, seafood and produce are offered each week alongside other local lifestyle products including a local lobster food truck. (Please see a complete listing of participating vendors below.)

Fairfield County’s favorite farm-to-table chefs will appear weekly to conduct classes and demos from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. They will help us learn to use locally produced, seasonal ingredients found at the market to prepare fresh, easy meals for our families.

WFM is focused on educating and helping you create and maintain a healthier lifestyle. We will host weekly and monthly demonstrations on aspects of healthy living that can benefit you and your community. For example,  Master Gardner Sandy Moore will host a monthly booth walking us through our homegrown edibles and Saugatuck Craft Butchery will host several butchering demonstrations.

When we say “Live Local,” we mean it. Each year, we partner with 24+ local non-profits that will host a week at the Market. Our local community partners have the opportunity to share their information and celebrate the efforts of WFM.  And, we are thrilled to host “Artist Alley,” which will be held the first Thursday of each month and showcase some of the area’s best and brightest local talent.

Some say that WFM has the strictest market guidelines in the state. We say, you’d better believe it! As a dedicated center of local, sustainable living, we require each of our vendors to meet all of our carefully crafted requirements to participate even once. We do it because we know the community trusts and depends on the WFM to be a leader in sustainability, outreach, and good, old-fashioned farm raised food.
