The Lachat Town Farm at the Juliana Lachat Preserve in Weston is the newest community farm in Fairfield County and it needs your support, just as the others do. The Lachat Oversight Committee has been working on plans for Lachat Town Farm for over eighteen months. Donations are being accepted to help renovate the 1770 Lachat Farmhouse where a farm manager will reside. Now on the CT State Register of Historic Places, the Lachat Farmhouse recently received a $15,000 grant from the 1772 Foundation for roof and chimney repairs.
An exciting series of three pop-up dinners has been planned to help raise funds for the farm, and tickets are now on sale for the June 28 “Five Farms and a Barn” dinner. Please refer to the invitation below for details and RSVP to email@example.com or call 917-602-1383. (Click on the image for better resolution.)
Next spring, the farm will be prepared to offer CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) subscriptions for seasonal vegetables. This year, a Community Garden will offer plots for lease to town residents.
The Lachat Town Farm is located at 106 Godfrey Road West. If traveling north on Route 53 (Newtown Turnpike), take a left onto Godfrey Road West. The farm is on the right. Bring your friends. Come one, come all!! No RSVP necessary.
