Winter Farmers’ Markets 2014-2015

Winter farmers’ markets didn’t exist six years ago in Fairfield County. Now we have seven! Winter farmers’ markets in Westport, Fairfield, Weston, Monroe, New Canaan and Greenwich will run again this season, all in indoor, heated venues. New this year is Sugar & Olive’s Friday farmers’ market from 3-7 pm. Please find a complete guide to all the markets below.

Winter Westport Farmers’ Market

The Winter Westport Farmers’ Market starts on November 16 and will once again be held at Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens in Westport.

Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm

Winter Farmers’ Market at the Greenfield Hill Grange

Vendors include Gazy Bros. Farm, Silver Pond Farm, Chestnut Hollow Farms (organic hydroponic greens), D’andicraft Organic Soaps, and Coreen’s Florist. A bread vendor, maple syrup vendor and some others are in the works.

The parking lot at the Greenwich Teen Center, 100 Arch Street (across from the Island Beach Ferry parking lot)

Dec. 6: Market in Arch Street Teen Center

Dec. 13: No Indoor Market –  The following will meet customers in the Teen Center parking lot: Sankow’s Beaver Brook Farm –  cheese, lamb, chicken, raw milk; Four Mile River Farm – beef products; On The Rocks Farm – eggs

Dec. 20: Market in Arch Street Teen Center

Dec. 27: No market

From January 2015 on, the following will meet customers in the Teen Center parking lot:

Sankow’s Beaver Brook Farm from 9:30-11:00 –  cheese, lamb, chicken, raw milk, prepared food

Four Mile River Farm – beef products (pre-order pickup only from 9-10. Email them at info@fourmileriverfarm.com to place order)

On The Rocks Farm from 9-12 – eggs.

From March on, Moorefield Herb will be in the Teen Center parking lot with early lettuce plants and herbs.

May 16, 2015: Reopening of Summer Market in Horseneck Lane / Arch Street Parking Lot

Winter Farmers’ Market at Sugar & Olives (Norwalk)

Fridays from 3-7 pm in the restaurant, the market will feature farmers selling Non-GMO/organic milk, eggs, cheese, honey, produce, meats, flour and grains.

November 7, 2014-February, 2015 (closed the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day)

  1. There’s a winter farmers’ market in Madison, CT at the American Legion Hall near the Church Green, Fridays 3 to 6. Vendors include Sankow’s Beaverbrook Farm (cheese,chickens,lamb) Four Mile River (beef, Wave Hill Breads (authentic French and Italian breads and croissants), Summerhill Catering, and vegetable farms.
