Seed Library Helps Gardeners Grow

seed libraryNew Canaan Library invites you to grow with them at their seed lending library.   The idea is simple—borrow seeds from the library (don’t worry– there won’t be any fines), let some of the plants go to seed, and bring the next generation of seeds back to the library. Whenever the Library is open, gardeners can check out seeds for free. Saving seeds saves money, creates tastier food, and keeps the vegetable genetic pool more diverse and healthy.

New Canaan Library’s initial seed bank has come from very generous donations from the Seed Saver Exchange, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, and Connecticut Master Gardeners Association.  Learn more about the New Canaan Library Seed Library here.

For any questions about borrowing and returning, please ask us! Call 203-594-5003 or  email.
