Family Fun Day at
Wakeman Town Farm
Saturday, July 11
Noon until 3:00
Admission: $5 kids, $10 adults
Food is available for purchase.
Visit this non-profit, community farm at 134 Cross Highway in Westport for afternoon of down-home fun for kids and families of all ages.
Enjoy a Hoe-Down Grill and live music by Jonathan Saxon of Memory Man Music, cold lemonade and specialty drinks from BuzzTruck and delicious ices from Fruple Ice. The whole family will enjoy farmyard lawn games, a petting zoo, face painting, and a pie-eating contest.
New This Year: The Westport Astronomical Society (WAS) will bring their telescopes so guests can do some solar observing (safely with filters) along with the Moon, Jupiter, Venus and anything else that can be found in the sky. If you have a high school student in Fairfield or Westport that’s interested in joining a school astronomy club, students at Warde, Ludlowe and Staples will be starting them up in September and welcome all to join. Please see WAS President Dan Wright to connect your student with these student leaders or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll connect you with my son.
Benedict’s Home & Garden store will be raffling off a secret prize!
All are invited to enjoy a day on the farm packed with family fun and a true sense of community. This is a terrific opportunity for families to peruse the organic vegetable gardens, picnic on the grounds, meet the farmers and animals, and see what all the buzz is about!
