ecofarm+picture+girl+with+lambWhole Foods Market Fairfield will be hosting an outdoor seafood festival Saturday, July 25th featuring special sales and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy including a visit from the Eco Farm on Wheels. Attendees can expect to find their local fishmongers selling seafood, filleting fresh catches and shucking oysters. These delicious eats and special sales include:
  • Harpoon Caught Swordfish: $12.99/lb (Org. Price: $19.99) – Canada, MSC-Certified
  • 50 Pack Clams: $14.99/lb (Org. Price: $22.99) – Barnegat Light, NJ
  • Oyster Shucking: $1 each
  • Lobster Rolls: $10
  • Caribbean Shrimp Tacos: $8

This event will be kid-friendly, too! Eco Farm on Wheels, a mobile farm that aims to spread the concepts of sustainable farming to the masses, will be stopping by from 12pm to 3pm with a selection of their farmyard friends for your kids to enjoy. Farmer Carol Lake just told me that she’s bringing bunnies, baby turkeys, chicks, lambs, a Nigerian dwarf dairy goat and her bouncing baby boy, and ducks complete with a little pond to swim in. Come join the fun!

Local vendors will be setting up demo stations including Gourganic Salsa, a Fairfield-based company bottling salsa made with local-organic ingredients.
