The Garden Education Center of Greenwich (GEC) is pleased to invite the public to its third annual Farm to Table Foragers Feast, a fundraising dinner celebrating sustainably harvested, local bounty and healthy eating within our community, on Thursday, October 22nd from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm. The cocktail hour begins at 6:30 in the greenhouse and dinner will be served in the main dining room at 7:30.
Seasonal ingredients, including greens harvested in GEC’s own greenhouse, form the basis of the predominantly organic menu. Much of the meal will be served family style to ten tables of ten guests. Many of last year’s food contributors are returning this year including Back40 Farm and Mike’s Organic Delivery, along with several CT NOFA member farms.
Chef Coordinator Rachel Khanna is an accomplished chef and holistic health counselor and the popular author of Live, Eat, Cook Healthy (read our review here). Chef Khanna will curate the evening’s menu from the local bounty, hors d’oeuvres, side dishes and desserts offered by food contributors. Jeff Cordulack, Executive Director of CT NOFA, is the evening’s featured speaker and will highlight the state of regional farming during the dinner portion of the event. Val’s Putnam Wines returns as wine sponsor.
Tickets are $125 or $250 for patrons and can be purchased online at gecgreenwich.org or by calling 203-869-9242. All proceeds benefit the Garden Education Center of Greenwich (GEC), a volunteer educational non-profit organization committed to enhancing the appreciation and enjoyment of nature through horticulture, conservation and the arts.
