Pick your pumpkins in the very field they were grown in. Walk the fields at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton to find the pumpkins grown by Sport Hill Farm that are just right for your fall and Halloween decorating needs.
Connecticut Field Pumpkins are 10-20 pound heirloom varieties that have been grown in the state for over 300 years. They make great Jack-O-Lanterns, but they’re also edible. Use the pulp in pies, purees, soups, custards, muffins and any other dish calling for fresh pumpkin.
The state of Connecticut is in the middle of an abnormally dry period and is officially in a moderate drought according to the US Drought Monitor. Our farmers have been impacted, with some crops failing and others growing smaller than usual. This is an important time to support our farmers, so please choose locally grown first, not second.
Head to the school to pick your own pumkins. Make it a special outing with family and friends to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Sport Hill Farm will also be selling pumpkins at their farm market at 596 Sport Hill Road in Easton.
