Salt blocks are beautiful and versatile cooking canvases that come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Perhaps you have one at home that you’re wondering how to use?
Harbor Harvest owner Bob Kunkel will teach the salt block method to guests, discuss and demo a variety of cooking applications, and serve samples of some of their finest beef, pork and local shellfish. Learn more about Harbor Harvest in our feature article.
Back in December, Bob met Mark Bitterman, an author and expert in Himalayan Salt Block cooking, in Savannah, Georgia, and has been working with him to have salt blocks available at Harbor Harvest. Copies of Mark Bitterman’s cookbook, Salt Block Cooking, and salt blocks will be available for sale during the evening.
The menu includes shrimp, scallops, pork, beef, tomatoes, peppers, asparagus, and mushrooms prepared on the salt blocks, then served as appetizers and sides paired with some intriguing wines.
