Top Chefs Provide Free Culinary Instruction at WFM

Chef Ganx

Chef Cecily Gans shops from Sport Hill Farm on opening day after she and her team provide free culinary instruction for guests.

The Westport Farmers’ Market (WFM), a thriving local hub for seasonal food, wants you to fall in love with your kitchen again. Twenty top area chefs and restaurants have signed up to provide free culinary instruction each week from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. so you can learn to create delicious meals and snacks at home using fresh ingredients from the market. I like to call it Shop and Learn. The season kicked off with the Chef Cecily Gans and the Staples High School Culinary Team doing demonstrations on opening day. Bar Sugo “ramped” up the demo with their homemade pasta demonstration and seasonal ramps tutorial.

Organic spring greens and herbs from opening day.

Hungry yet? Well, then pull up a chair this and every Thursday. No need to bring a pen and paper, either! Each chef will have recipes ready for you to take home and test out in your kitchen.  They share WFM’s dedication to real farmers who grow real food. And what they do with it is really delicious. Don't miss these opportunities to "Shop and Learn" so you can easily kick your kitchen into high gear this summer with chef recipes featuring WFM ingredients.

Mark your calendars for free culinary instruction:
