10 Things to Do Before Summer’s End

Teacher assignments, open houses, orientations, school supply lists – it’s all suddenly upon us. So are the last crops we’ll harvest before putting our gardens to bed for the winter. Make the most of the last fleeting weeks of summer by doing a few special, and memorable, green food activities before summer’s end. Here’s to building our fortitude to make it through another New England winter.

Spring Has Sprung at Sport Hill Farm

My CSA from Sport Hill Farm won’t start until June, but farmer Patti Popp has been encouraging crop cash members to stop in to buy some spring greens in her farm market on the honor system. I finally made it there on a glorious sunny day last week to stock up on arugula, an arugula and mustard greens mix, overwintered scallions, and chicken eggs.
