Farmers’ Markets (Please refer to the Farmers’ Market tab for a complete and up-to-date listing)
- The Wilton Farmers’ Market is relocating to the Wilton Historical Society and will run each Wednesday from 2:00 until 6:00 pm. Opening day is May 25.
Organic Farms & Farm Stands
- Ambler Farm, Wilton (Farm stand, participant in farmers’ market at Wilton Library, regular on-farm events and workshops, summer camps, apprentice program). Amber Farm’s farm stand opens for the season Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 28, and is open from 10 am until 5 pm each Saturday.
- Millstone Farm, Wilton (regular on-farm events and workshops, seasonal dinners at the farm, tours, small CSA, salad greens available for purchased at Wilton Village Market)
Organic Herbs Farms
- Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens, Westport, is a retail store selling everything you need for a USDA Organic edible herb and vegetable garden Gilbertie’s hosts on-site events and workshops, and was home to the 2010-11 winter Westport farmers’ market (now closed for the season).
- Moorefield Herb Farm, Trumbull, is a regular participant in the Westport farmers’ market at Imperial Avenue and the Fairfield winter market at the Greenfield Hill Grange. Moorefield sells USDA Organic herbs, vegetable transplants, and flowers.
CSAs
- Please refer to the CSA tab for a complete and up-to-date seasonal listing. Millstone Farm has a very small CSA. Please contact them directly to inquire about having your name added to the waiting list.
School & Community Gardens
- Wilton High School has an organic, edible schoolyard garden that was founded by Jim Hunter, a Biology and AP Environmental Science teacher at the school. The garden was made possible through funding from Newman’s Own Foundation and funding and other support from The Betsy and Jesse Fink Foundation and Millstone Farm. Jim spent years learning to garden organically from Millstone Farm’s Master Farmer Annie Farrell, and her time and expertise were key contributors to the project’s success.
